Roy Hughes

Hello! My name is Roy Hughes and I have taught Social Studies in the Brentwood School District since the 1997-1998 school year. I am currently the Secondary Social Studies Curriculum Chairperson and teach Liberty and the Law, Perspectives in World History, and Introduction to Criminal Justice at Brentwood High School. I have also been the Head Wrestling Coach at Brentwood High School since 1998. I currently hold a Career Certification as a Social Studies Educator as well as an Initial Administrative Certificate for Secondary School Administration. I earned my undergraduate degree at Culver-Stockton College and my master's degree at Southwest Baptist University. In the classroom, my overall goal is to create a student-centered environment where students take ownership of their education and actively participate rather than passively learn. In my classroom, I promote the belief that through hard work and effort anyone can achieve success.
